Citizens of Two Kingdoms is the first Module of The Awareness Course. It is an adult education programme that equips people for life in a diverse world, examining issues that affect every one of us, such as fundamentalism, the impact of globalization around the world, and secularism. Participants learn to live without fear and without feeling that they have to compromise their own beliefs. The course is Christian, celebrating our common ground with Judaism and Islam and respecting our differences.
Each Awareness group is led by one or more Course Leaders. Course Leaders add greatly to the 'value' of a course by:
The Awareness Course's teaching method, designed and refined over five years, is based on the use of professionally-produced teaching videos, meaning that the Course Leader’s role is that of facilitator and motivator rather than lecturer.
Put simply, almost anyone can be a Course Leader!
The Awareness Course always involves 'real world' issues such as diversity, globalization, fundamentalism and secularism - issues which every one of us has encountered - and much of what will happen in a session will be fueled by your participants' own experiences and insight. As for the teaching itself, Course Leaders can rely on the Awareness Foundation's own teaching team to deliver this through our DVD. Of course, we are always happy if you'd rather do some of the main teaching yourself!

Citizens of Two Kingdoms is a rich and exciting course. These are some of the topics the course covers.
1Living in a diverse world: all course topics relate to daily life, bringing new people into your church.
2Faith and globalization: take your church into the heart of your community through addressing their problems.
3Fundamentalism: participants learn to understand and embrace their faith, so that they become more secure in their beliefs.
4Secularism: help your people be more positive about their faith and culture without fear and prejudice.
5Is 'tolerance' enough?: the course enables your congregation to talk about their faith without compromise.
To prepare Course Leaders, here are three short videos to show you how the course materials are designed and how to use them.
