President: The Rt Reverend Michael Marshall, Assistant Bishop of London

Bishop Michael Marshall is President and co-Founder of the Awareness Foundation, and co-author of the Awareness Course. He became the Suffragan Bishop of Woolwich in 1975 where he remained until 1984. From 1984 to 1992 he was the founding Episcopal Director of the Anglican Institute in St Louis, Missouri. In 1992 Bishop Michael returned to the UK to lead the Springboard Initiative set up by the Archbishop of Canterbury for the Decade of Evangelism. He became Bishop in Residence at Holy Trinity Sloane Square in 1997, where he remained until 2007; during that time he revitalised Holy Trinity, turning it from an empty church into a beacon of preaching, teaching and outreach.  He is also an accomplished concert pianist and author.

Chairman of Trustees: Charles Longbottom

As Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Awareness Foundation, Charles has been responsible for steering the Foundation since its inception in 2003. He has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in business and public service. He was Member of Parliament for York from 1959 to 1966, and has served as Chairman of leading City-based shipping companies. Charles was Chairman of the Acorn Christian Foundation from 1988 to 2001. In addition to his responsibilities at the Awareness Foundation, Charles was for many years Churchwarden at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square.

Director: The Revd Nadim Nassar

The Revd Nadim Nassar is the Director and Co-Founder of the Awareness Foundation, and co-author of the Awareness Course.

Father Nadim was born and raised in Lattakia, Syria. He lectured in different universities in London, including the American Intercontinental University where he taught World Religions, and London Guildhall University where he developed the 'Faith and Citizenship' seminar. Father Nadim also taught adult formation courses in different churches in the Middle East, Europe and the US. He leads diocesan conferences in the UK, US and Hong Kong, he gives frequent public lectures and is a guest blogger on Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper. He has appeared many times on TV and Radio channels around the world, including ANN, ANB, Premier Radio and BBC.

Communications Director: The Revd Canon Dr James Rosenthal

James Rosethanal

Jim joined the Awareness Foundation in 2009. He served as Director of Communications for the world-wide Anglican Communion from 1989 to 2009. He served 3 Lambeth Conferences and was editor of Anglican Episcopal World for many years.

Development Director: Anthony Shillington

Anthony Shillington has been Development Director since 2005. He comes from Northern Ireland. After an MA from Trinity College Dublin and teaching in West Africa, he worked for ICI and Hoechst in marketing and public relations roles. He was Director of Corporate Communications at Redland PLC, before turning to fundraising, initially as Development Director for the Stowe School Foundation and Stowe House Preservation Trust (1996-2004).

Director for the Middle East: Huda Nassar

Huda Nassar has been Director for the Middle East since 2008. She is responsible for the development and implementation of all Awareness Foundation initiatives in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, assisted by a highly qualified group of consultants. Previously, Huda studied at Birmingham University where she earned her MA in Pastoral Theology.

Huda leads pilgrimages and delegations to Syria and she continues to develop our bridge-building work between the West and the Middle East. She gives talks and lectures at many conferences in the UK and the Middle East.

Education Director: St.John Wright

St.John Wright joined the Awareness Foundation in 2004. He is responsible for the management of the Foundation’s education programming, including the development and distribution of the Awareness Course and is responsible for management of the Foundation’s main website. Since graduating in law in 1987, St.John has worked in media, film and education.
