Travelling Fellowships
The Awareness Foundation launched its Travelling Fellowship Programme in 2007 to enable Middle Eastern Christian leaders to visit the UK and US to speak about their experiences and share their insight. This provides Middle Eastern Christians with a valuable opportunity to be heard in the West, and grants those in the West a rare chance to learn about Christian life in the Middle East. Our aim is to defeat ignorance and misconceptions and to change attitudes.
Travelling Fellows, so far from Lebanon and Jordan, have given talks and lectures in London, St. Albans (St. Albans Cathedral), Birmingham, Wales, New York, New Orleans and Washington DC.
The Travelling Fellowship is awarded annually by the Awareness Foundation; the award includes all travelling and accommodation costs for the speaking trip, plus an honorarium of £500. The Fellow receives the golden Fellowship Cross of the Foundation and the Fellowship Certificate. Previous Travelling Fellows include the Revd Dr Habib Badr (Beirut, Lebanon), The Revd Fa'eq Haddad (Amman, Jordan) and the Revd Fadi Daou (Beirut, Lebanon).
