Foundation Chair Recognised in New Year's Honours

We are delighted to announce that the charitable work of Charles Longbottom, our Chair of Trustees since the Foundation's inception, has been recognised in the 2012 New Year Honours. Charles has been made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE). The Staff and Trustees of the Awareness Foundation wholeheartedly congratulate Charles for this most well-deserved recognition!

The Order of the British Empire recognises distinguished service to the arts and sciences, public services outside the Civil Service and work with charitable and welfare organisations of all kinds. The honour that Charles has received, the OBE, specifically rewards a distinguished regional or county-wide role in any field, through achievement or service to the community including notable practitioners known nationally. It is awarded for a regional or county-wide role, and a contribution where the impact is felt by a significant number of people or across a broad geographical area.
